love the heated flooring! it's incredibly energy efficient since heat rises, so it takes way less energy to a room because it distributes more effectively

Heated floors feel so great! Just a quick clarification, the DITRA will heat the floor, however it's not a radiant floor system and will not heat the space. If it's possible to install an electric wall heating unit w/dehumidifier it will keep it cozy and allay dampness.

I love heated floors. I had one when I was a teacher in Korea. It’s like having a giant heating pad. If you’re sore after a long day. Get a blanket or two, lie down there, and have a great nap!

Love this series! The new flooring looks fab! How did you deal with the elevation to the floor after installing all the insulation panels under the tile?

I absolutely am in love with the black grout. Do you mind telling the name of the tile? I want to mimic that exactly I absolutely think you’ve started a trend because this is gorgeous❤

Hope you do have venting for the all the steam from the shower. Otherwise you’ll have your first bathroom all over again!

When I bought my second house, I went to Juarez, MX to buy the tiles and mix for 4 bedrooms. I spent $300 in total. When my husband was done laying the tiles, we were missing TWO TILES!!!!! And I had such a hard time getting someone to cross the border!!!

Heated floors are a neat idea.
That's not drywall is it?
I hate drywall in the bathroom. It almost always molds eventually. Especially if the moisture from that shower isn't vented or some dehumidifier is installed.

imo drywalling a bathroom is such a stupid trend especially when wet room bathrooms exist. Whenever I buy a house I'm going to make a wet bathroom. The wet room is a bathroom that has been completely sealed with waterproof materials, resulting in a space that is completely watertight. Usually it has a floor drain. And I've seen some builds that are beautiful.

Why do you first make the floor and then paint the walls? Wouldnt it be smarter to first paint the wall and after it make the floor. In this order you dont have to protect the floor while painting the walls

Im curious about how much did it cost? Home Renos always look like so much fun but I have no idea what they cost.

Did you just paint right over the dry wall? Let me know if that's a thing.

That's why you always buy 10% extra tile. - from a person who used to sell and install tile
