We were going out for a walk and I told Abby to put a hat on because it was sunny.
So she did.
This was such an enlightening moment for me, because I realized how important it is to be specific with the instructions we give our little ones.
The more specific we are, the better result we will have.
Have you ever said: “ My child doesn’t listen to me”
My invitation today is to reframe that to: “Am I being specific with what I am asking to my child”
This simple shift can be a game changer!
In this example I could have said:
“Put your brown hat” (the brown will cover her face)
or if she was a little older I could say: “Put a hat that covers your face”
The more specific we are, the better the result will be.
