A multi-storey building collapsed in Kachighati area of Shimla on Thursday evening. The collapse created a panic among the onlookers and others residing in nearby buildings. Exact details of damages were awaited. The building was reportedly vacated and no person was present inside it when it collapsed. The collapse also damaged a couple of building below it. The incident was captured by locals on mobile cameras. Exact damages were yet to be assessed.

Very sad! But by building such high rise buildings in hilly terrains ,we are ourselves inviting trouble. I think such 6-7 storied buildings are not permitted ,but with connivance of local authorities , hundreds of such buildings have been constructed ,not only in Himachal but ,all the hilly regions of the country.
