Here in Brazil, a case got popular this year, in which a client wanted to do a makeup for her wedding, but without the whole “bride combo” (which includes a more long lasting makeup, helping with the dress and hair, champagne and biscuits, etc). So the client said she wasn’t a bride so she wouldn’t be pushed to the bride combo, since that happened to all other makeup artists she booked before, by the moment she would mention she was a bride, the regular makeup was no longer an option offered. But then, after the appointment, the makeup artist found the truth about the client being a bride, and got mad af, claiming she was being disrespected as a makeup artist, and that the client was scamming her, though the client payed the right price for the service she bought

I’ve yet to meet a makeup artist that can color match foundation. Even online. The client never matches her neck 😂 I truly believe I can do my makeup better than the majority of these “artists”

Oh naw that’s an influencer 😭 as a makeup artist who books clients I always bring everything they need plus little bottles of water in case they need anything to drink while they’re sitting there. There’s no reason for the client to bring their own stuff if they’re literally paying you for the service. Like I’m vampire white but I make sure I have foundation even for the darkest client I could have.

Honestly, I would take “the perfect face for makeup” as a compliment. To me that means that I have features that are beautiful and therefore should be emphasized. You could take it as someone saying you have a lot of flaws that could use covering up, but to me makeup is emphasize first, cover up second.

Figuring out your shade is THE hardest part though 😅 I put off make up until I was almost 30 because the skin tone foundations all looked the same to me until I got on adhd meds 😂😂😂😂 this better have cost 3.50 and not 350.00

I honestly get the foundation, and MAYBE concealer but THATS IT. I would imagine with all a makeup artist has to bring, they wouldn’t like to bring 100s of foundation bottles in different shades and different brands. 😅

I would never even think about hiring a makeup artist. I have never met anyone who does an even comparable job to me. They can only do their own 🤷♀️

I tried to get a makeup artist for my wedding. She went from quoting me $300 to asking for over $600. Also kept sending me contracts with major errors in them. I'm using my sister now instead
