You got to understand Darwin had done nothing but shown kindness as well trying to understand the turtle, he was the few family members who was sadden when he thought it die, even going as far to say "look he just an scared animal", however said animal drag him to the bottom of the lake and worst off the beast wanted Darwin to drown, not even wanting to finish him, it cruelly wanted the kid last moments to be agonising as possible, the kid who was the only one actually nice to the turtle, so words can't describe the level of rage Darwin feels towards it.
