if there's one thing this comment section has taught me it's that a lot of people play the fallout games and simply don't listen to a single line of dialogue or read a single paragraph of in-game text. I have gotten SO many comments of people being like "didn't the bombs in fallout fall in the 20th century tho??" like my brother in christ the great war happened in 2077 it's the single most important year in the entire lore 😭

Don't forget the Jet that wasn't invented until after the war but is still somehow still in every pre-war safe

That one guy who was building a mini nuke in his basment because he was convinced the metal tower they built outside his house was a mind control device.

It's always funny going into, like, a random business or office and finding assorted bullets and weapons in the drawers. Those dudes were SECONDS away from going Postal.

And don't even get me started on finding Jet in unraided pre-war locations.

My first thought seeing that loot was that it was probably in a locked safe... then I thought about just how many guns are in that swag bag and how small the safes in Fallout usually are, and the dresser made more sense.

I like how this is still FO4 by implying you're the Sole Survivor and know how weird the 21st century was

Everyone always asking why a prewar safe has a rocket launcher in it when they are playing a game set in a dystopian America that was on the brink of war and 99% of people thought that they where going to be personally invaded by the Japanese.

"America was weird in the 21st century."

Probably trying to make a joke about America and guns, but the Fallout verse in general was a chaotic and unstable place pre-war.

The Great War was preceded by several other conflicts including a plague and the Resource Wars. Having a stash of weapons isn't all that weird, especially since the entire concept of Fallout is "The Cold War, but realized".

Though, lets be real, this skit is likely due to Fallout 4 which doesn't properly distribute it's random loot drops. In 3 and New Vegas, if you find a gun in a random house, there's usually a lore reason for it.

Well when the world could end at any moment and part of it already has you’d better grab as much guns and ammo you can to protect yourself. Although this guy seems to have been out on the 23rd.

I live in the US south. I'm not about rocket launchers, but everything else you could probably find in every other house in the countryside, and at least 1 house per suburban neighborhood.

The only things missing from that master bedroom to make it more typical, and that depends upon if they was a couple, is the nsfw magazines and the nsfw toys. If single, only one of those show up.

Yeah, Pre-war Fallout America basically had no concept of gun laws. You wanted a bazooka or a missile launcher, you could basically pop down to the convenience store, pick one up, and no one would bat an eye so long as you didn’t point it at them. And if you did, you basically throw money at the problem until it went away, if you were rich enough
