the woman in this video reported that this happened from touching something and then rubbing her eyes, so even if you don't eat anything weird, if something like this happens assume your life is in danger and get to a hospital asap

I know some people go to the ER for things that aren't emergencies, but I think we shame people so much for it that some are hesitant to go when they have an actually emergency.

When I had my first anaphylactic reaction, my armpits and groin just started itching like crazy at first-until I looked up and saw my red, swollen face. I was smart to continue driving to the emergency room, and passed out shortly after arriving, being told later it was a code blue. When I woke up, there were about a dozen doctors working on me, and I was soon informed I’d be hospitalized for at least a week.

I'm familiar with this person from other videos .... She's chronically allergic to almost everything, so she deals with this type of thing on a daily basis. God Bless her.

I have a LOT of allergies. When I was 16, I woke up one day to hives all over my body, and my right eye swollen shut. The strange thing is, despite this reaction, I was not in pain, had no discomfort, no itching, nothing. I calmly waited for my mother to wake up, then let her know about the allergic reaction since it had not changed in the 30 minutes I'd been awake.

At the hospital I got a Shot of Epi (that stuff HURTS, and it hurts for HOURS after) just to be safe. When the reaction died down I was allowed to return home.

To this day I have NO clue what triggered that reaction. It has never happened since.

My mom gave me amoxicillin as a kid and sent me to bed. I came back to consciousness in the back of the car, having been flung to the floor when my dad took a turn way too fast. Next time I woke up after that, was after surgery, alone in a dim hospital room. The couldn’t get an airway, so they rushed me to emergency surgery and removed my tonsils.

Don’t give your child a medication they’ve never taken unless they’re going to be fully supervised for at least the first six hours. My sister told my mom that my snoring was bothering her two or three times. It wasn’t until she was going to bed herself and thought “hold on, she doesn’t snore,” and realized my sister’s imitation of the sound I was making was actually quite concerning. She got back up to check, and that’s when she found me. She never told me what happened, what condition I was in in that bed, but the nurses wouldn’t let me look in the mirror that first day after surgery.

I remember her. She has a ridiculously long list of allergies and some skin issues! This happens sometimes. She is always positive regardless.

I had something similar to this a while back. I had unfortunately gotten pink eye and was not able to get to a doctor right away so I had gone to an urgent care thinking I would be prescribed drops and have no issue.

A few days after taking the drops my face and eyes began swelling. Due to how fast it swelled I went back to the urgent care who immediately advised me to go to the ER. There I was told an infection may be behind the eye and they advised taking my blood and a CAT scan but only found swelling. Due to this, they told me this was likely just an allergic reaction and advised me to stay on my current medicine but also prescribed antibiotics and Claritin.

The following day I was finally able to get to see my doctor who was immediately concerned at the amount of swelling in my face and eyes and so made an appointment for me to see an eye specialist that day. The specialist was finally able to help and concluded that I was likely allergic to the first drops given and told me to stop taking everything I was prescribed earlier and prescribed new drops and steroids to remove the swelling. Within a day the swelling was already going away but was def scary that it took so much and so long to figure out something so simple.
