It's cool, I never realised that failing the objective would lead to the town having to deal with the shadows! I like that they added unappealing consequences for the player to deal with in a no-reload playthrough!

Im so glad I didnt fail that. Admittedly, that was due in large part to having that Sunlight spell on a party members weapon + the Blood of Lathander mace.

The worst part is that the blacksmith guy dies and you won't get to buy his insanely OP armor later on that gives you insane armor rating and a 50% damage reduction to physical attacks

First run I was caught unawares by the attempted kidnapping, but man, that guy was obliterated fast.
Didn't last more than three turns, and the whole fight more than 6 or 7. We lost just one Harper downstairs...
Naturally, I'm just finding out that's what happens if you somehow fail, and yet, it's the logical outcome, if you think about it.

My first playthrough, my paladin & and astarion, somehow managed to crit our way through this encounter. It felt so easy that in my sorcerer playthrough, I was almost wiped when they instead crit us to high hell. This fight is definitely one that can be at the dice gods mercy

Literally my friend did this in our coop run. He was screaming, "I didn't think thered be an encounter I just wanted to meet the lady!" As the rest of us were literally trading or exploring the inn. We never made it to him in time and Isabel got stolen. Only reason we reloaded was cause of us being so separated we got killed by all the new undead
