Highway 20 located in Washington is the highway that brings you right through the middle of the North Cascades, and wow is it scenic. These are a few of my favorite spots that are easily accessible (heading East to west), great for families and almost any skill level.

📍Washington Pass Overlook
• stunning views of the highway winding up the mountain pass
• you can see the jarring peaks
• paved walkway
• 0.25 miles round trip hike

📍Diablo Lake Overlook
• this stunning lake offers a bright turquoise color in the summer, this day (fall time) in the images it was pulling a deep blue color
• views steps from the paved parking lot

📍Gorge Dam Visitor Center
• not much parking here
• you walk across the gorgeous suspended bridge over to the visitor center. Learn about the history of the dams within North Cascades (there are 3).
• this dam provides 20% of Seattle’s electrity

📍Ladder Creek Falls
• located behind the gorge dam visitor center is a scenic walk through some dense forest to this overlook
• some stairs involved but really cool nature walk
• 0.5 miles
