I've not been to see my rhumatologist for quite a long time now because I was fed up of driving a long way for a very short appointment that was always running late, only to be told I look fine and not have my questions properly answered or even fully understood.

I don't blame the doctors. I know they want to help and I know that most of them really care. I blame the seriously outdated schooling they have. I blame the fact that they are not updated on new medical research. I blame the little time they are given to see and understand their patients. I also blame the pharmaceutical industry for having complete power over the doctors and the hospitals, and how they care more about their profits than their patients. It's obvious to me that the pharmaceutical industry want to keep us on the meds for life because that is how they make money. Curing us in a year or so won't keep the bosses rich and happy.

The more I research with books, new documentaries and the Internet; the more I realise that my body does have a chance to heal if I work hard at it...and I need to ignore the doctors telling me that I will be sick forever and on meds forever.

I know that I am relying on the meds right now because I am still very ill...but I'm dedicating my life to learning about functional health and how I can get better. And I'm taking you with me on my journey!
