I wish this was a more nuanced discussion. As it is, it comes across as a debate, wherein this man is presenting his case in as rose-coloured a fashion as he possibly can, which hurts his credibility by making him come across as either naive to the downsides of colonialism or purposely neglectful of them.
Should European colonialism be painted as some sort of return of the Mongols, traveling the world and killing for fun? No. That's not what it was. A lot of good came of it. But should it then be treated as entirely benevolent and pure? Also no.
I would prefer some nuance.

Ok sure sharing culture and technology might have been the PR move but like at the end of the day the motivation would be money. Extract resources, claim arable land, and exploit labour of unsuspecting groups. Significantly less benevolent. Also Iām pretty sure that friendly indigenous peoples who were willing to trade or provide supplies would also be classified as not racist

I must say britishers did this fantastically. They made us(India) flourishing by making us a trade deficit country which by the way was a trade surplus before Britishers came. They were the most anti racist except for the fact that they were racist in their every colony with natives , they were the most non rascist but just among themselves. They also made us more self governed by taking governance from natives to themselves. They made all their colonies slavery free by enslaving us . Thankyou very much for this great colonial past .
