My takes on your takes (respectfully):
- Yes, just yes. This literally encapsulates what Dragon Ball is too lmao, it doesn't need to be complicated to be good.
- A remake of YYH with today's quality and production would become top viewed worldwide days after its release. Completely agree.
- I believe it's not really an author thing, but a demographic thing. Women thrive in shojo as much as men do in Shonen, mainly because they know their audience. I can see how many stories written by women are peak fiction, but that is honestly just a coincidence. I strongly believe authors should be separated from their human labels when talking about their genius and storytelling, Oda would be just as loved if he was a woman and had written One Piece the exact way he does.
- Honestly yeah, but it's a bit more complicated. Drama and romance is heavily loved in the west, but the concepts of romance and love differ a little bit in Japan compared to the west. Like, Horimiya for example, a story like this one where the main cast doesn't do drugs every 15 minutes and shaboink each other every other chapter wouldn't be well received if it was produced in the west. The idea of romance series in the west and east differ vastly.
- As an amateur animator I have to agree. Mappa is good when it comes to coloring and designing, their actual animation skills aren't much better than other studios.
- I swear almost every successful series has a black or at least black coded character, among other ethnicities. Totally agree here.
- Most popular manga have flamboyant and almost queer characters included, ignoring this is completely ignorant (hell, Queer is a whole ass RACE in One Piece, the Okama have their own frickin country).
- I swear some anime fans are allergic to civilized conversations 💀
- True love means in the highs and lows, goods and bads. Some people would get so defensive when you point out something bad or negative about their favorite anime and it's like, chill fam it's still good the series isn't gonna end

The thing with Mappa having bad animation isn’t even their fault. Have you heard about those working conditions? Working tirelessly like that I think it’s reasonable for it to be a little sloppy.
