Amazingly this also applies to higher math, the ones with very specific definitions and proving. While the definitions are very specific and can be long with several equivalent formulations, one gets the handle of the definition more through the connections between concepts, objects, and motivations. It is a difficult skill worth practicing, as this gives the students their first taste of "digging deep". I wish I studied better back then, or that my uni had Honors programs.

This is one of the best, THE BEST advices on studying.. having a clear perspective and openmind and trying to get the main sense of it makes it stick so much better. You can always go back if u have time but this gives u a general understanding of topic as a whole
