Lots of folks are interested in finding gold nuggets with a metal detector, but not every metal detector is good for nugget hunting, and the ones that are can be expensive. I’m not a dealer and I don’t sell detectors, but my choice for the best cheap metal detector that can do a decent job finding gold nuggets is the Fisher Gold Bug Pro.
For the full version my review of the Gold Bug Pro, check out my review video here:    • Best Cheap Gold Nugget Metal Detector
I also have a video on how to set up and use the Gold Bug Pro for finding gold nuggets. See:    • How to setup and operate the Fisher G...

Howdy! No matter what detector you buy won't work if you dont get out and use it ! You have to be willing to do research and learn the detector. They arent a magic wand. We are mostly dreamers . You have to make dreams come true. You tell it like it is and i appreciate you honesty.

It is a great detector for the money. A mining partner of mine has found some very nice nuggets with his gold bug pro. 1.25oz, 28.8gram, 2.7gram, and many smaller ones. Not bad for NC

A friend of mine has a gold bug pro and in the hard rock tailings I was surprised how great that unit is! He has even found some placer nugs with it.

I'm finally buying a good detector and watching your review the other day was wonderful and the decision making passes. I do have one question though.

Is there some equivalency that you would recommend for at home use? I have a lot already collected I want up check 😄 Handheld ones look like a convenient size. Are they called pinpointers? Do people usually need both when out in the field?

Thanks for your time

Hey Chris ! I can get the original gold bug, not the pro for 300. Is it worth it, or should I go with the pro? Is the manual ground balance that important?
