The thing is when Ubisoft listened to fans and gave AC Mirage that was like traditional AC, it selled better than Stat Wars Outlaw.

Outlaws had us do button inputs for our character to eat and skull and bones had stamina mechanics for the sails on our ships. The last good game they made was Ac Odyssey and even that had problems because the best looking gear was locked behind microtransactions

Working around people like this “I had to entertain wealthy clients from time to time at an old job” you learn some insight into how their judgement works. It came down to wealth=virtues. Having wealth made them think they were always right or at least have to perceive that they were always right. From the nicest to meanest it always felt that because they had money everything they did was justified. So, the customer has to be wrong. It’s can’t be something they approved.
