I'd argue only once a week in isolated sets. 2-3 is way too much for such a small muscle which is also involved in pulling exercises. Stick to the basics, do positive and negative reps, gradually increase the weight and get plenty of rest in-between training sessions as well as keeping your nutrition on point. Overtraining will only get you injuries not gains.
