He was also in the desert, he could've just been dehydrated, starving, and overheated which overtime caused him to fry his brain in order to survive (your brain goes cannibal on itself so the body has energy to survive and do its things) and all that also would increase his heart palpitations causing him to hallucinate and go insane. If your body temperature is overheated, dehydrated and starving for a long period of time you start to go crazy.

Ughhhh God doesnāt need someone to be exhausted, nor high, dehydrated or hallucinating to show them literal visualization of his Power. God is not weak. He can do the IMPOSSIBLE . Thatās why He is GOD. Donāt downplay the power of God when Heās shown us over and over again that He is POWER itself. I think a lot of the times our carnal human brains forget that, because itās hard for us to understand or go beyond our capacity of understanding of how things can supernaturally take place by Gods hands. So letās lean not on our own understanding. :) BUT you have to fear God first before you can truly understand that. God even says in the Bible āThe fear of God is the beginning to all wisdomā. I mean itās all a theory but I believe that if Moses was dehydrated or something like that maybe he did hallucinate and God saw an opportunity what better time for Moses to in counter God so heād be safe

Starving, heat exhaustion and dehydration can all cause hallucinations in people. He was stuck in the desert for a long period of time.
