It is not true that the film is banned from screening in Japan (or that there is an attempt to ban it). The simple truth is that most people involved in the Japanese film industry are hesitant or unwilling to take on the risks or discomfort associated with screening the movie because Shiori Ito herself failed to adhere to agreements with her lawyer, who handled her lawsuit, and the hotel where "the incident" occurred. She’s always resorting to these kinds of manipulative tactics. It’s exhausting.
