I'd say they lucked out...some mopars like to burn up the pcm charging driver when connections are bad like that lol. Had a nitro that did that, had to call the pcm on that one after the battery and alternator were already replaced...

Quick question. Is there a reason you grounded w/ a bulb Instead of just a direct ground? If I understand correctly the bulb would add resistance to the ground your giving it right? Thanks for making these videos btw, Iβm learning a lot.

Nine out of ten alternator replacements by professionals here on the Youtube don't even show the process of checking ground and power connections for voltage drop.I would have thought that would be fundamental.

How I usually do it is just take a jumper cable clipped to ground on the battery, and touch it to the body on the alternator, and watch the volt meter. When it immediately jumps to 14v, you know you're onto something; very quick check... I'll check the hot side the same way too if needed.

Wasted $ on alternator and battery for a quick bolt cleaning.

I see lots of bad grounds here in southwest Ohio. Ground straps as green as that disgusting green spaghetti!
