It depends on what your play style is, and it only really affects you early game. For dex go with samurai, strength go with vagabond, faith go with prophet, magic go with the astrologer

For me it was Hero, the axe moveset is quick and you get barbaric roar for an early dmg buff. The stat spread it offers is perfect for my prefered playstyle.

Oh, that was it? I thought it'd be a longer short. Samurai. Katana gives a bleed build. The more you hit, the faster they die. And a bow. For ranged attacks.

The class itself only matters at the start. However, in my experience starting as samurai or wretch is the best choice
