Brian & Mark were lucky to make not 1 but 2 shows where they were able to finish a great story. There are so many shows on Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, & Cartoon Network that start to tell great stories that get cancelled before they can finish (or in some cases go on too long) leaving audiences/fan bases upset, yet Brian & Mark didn't have that problem with Avatar.

This doesn't work in French since everybody just uses "histoire" to describe the story, and nobody uses the equivalent word for plot (which is "intrigue").
Both subjects are blended into one big topic.
In French if someone want to talk about the themes and the overall "story", we would just ask specific questions about character arcs, and themes, we wouldn't use a different general word that encapsulates all those topics.
Funny how language affects the way you engage with stories and analysis.

Interesting. As a university student of English teaching, which includes literature studies, I have been taught the inverse. The story is what is happening, the plot is all the why, how, all the intrigue, inter-character relations and so on and so forth. Odd!

Two different writers can take the same plot and create completely different stories.
