So this is for the electrician that makes frequent mistakes. Good to know, I'll keep an eye out for green boxes with weird face screws.

There's the "new" awesome way that allows for all the issues to be more easily fixed than normal. There's also the old way... sometimes referred to as the "right" way... that only requires doing it right the first time.

He needs to drop the inspector bit from the sales pitch. It is meh before that. It is awful after that. "Hey, want to be really bad at your job then kind of fix it if you get caught?"

So if I understand correctly the market for this is crappy electricians who keep doing their job wrong and want an easier way to fix their constant mistakes? I’m not an electrician, did I understand this correctly?

Actually, the old way with plastic and fibreglass boxes is to destroy the old box and replace it with an old work box.

Why would an inspector wait for something that’s supposed to be done already!! Red tag it move on!

I bet it takes just as long to jam a screwdriver in between the box and stud and the pry the box off the stud and th replace with a cut in.
Let’s not forget the price difference between the two.

Don't trust anyone saying inspectors are a problem

I can cut out a RN23 and add in double without drywall repair in less than 10 minutes.

What’s the cost difference? Do you call the inspector after installing the dry wall or before? If after, you are still having to cut extra drywall, remove the gangbox, add extensions to it and again put it back.

Is this something that’s worth the cost difference?

I heard you say the proper way and then say the "new way" that let's you change the box when it should've just been done right the first time.

An inspector isn't calling out a nail on box with too many conductors after the drywall had been put on. That's done BEFORE drywall 😂

I like the idea of these, plus it looks SO MUCH MORE WELL BUILT then other versions of this in the past that were not strong and fell apart!!! I see the idea of your contractors having less SKU's onboard the truck, just have right/left/expantions/and corners.... rather then a 100 single gang, 100 double, 100 tripple, 50 quad, 50 side car boxes, and special boxes... this is just three SKUs now of like 200 of each and you are good for damn near any job... but what is the cost of the material?? is it going to be 5x the cost of the regular box? your not saving electrition time, but adding time to his day to assemble these... so is it cheaper to keep cheaper lots of SKU's and less time, or pay more for convenience???

I'm really interested in seeing what the price will be. Hopefully it will be comperable to a normal box cost... but they have to re-cupe R&D, but if they make it cheap enough as its just injection molded plastic/nylon/glass fiber and a factory can pump thousands a day out no problem... Please make these cost effective!!!

I added a double by cutting the dry wall to the size of a double, unhooked and removed wires from single box and pried the old box of the stud. It took twenty minutes to complete.
