Flight Hours Aren’t Everything—Here’s the Better Question to Ask

“How much flight time does your crew have?” It’s one of the most common questions charter clients ask—and, according to FlyHouse Chief Safety Officer Al Mann, it’s the wrong one.

On The Ironbird Partners Podcast, Al explains why quality of flight time matters more than quantity. Because a pilot with 10,000 hours isn’t always safer than someone with 400.

If you want to fly smarter, it starts with asking better questions.

If you are qualified to fly charter under part 135 then you've had to demonstrate your proficiency over and over again. The best question is how good is the company they are working for and do they deserve your business. It's a very small number of Part 91 pilots that you need to be concerned about and not so much charter pilots that are operating a jet for a reputable company.
