This is a drill I use with my field athletes to work on change of direction.
Pick two athletes of similar stature/athleticism and have one go on offence, the other has to keep within and arms length away. The offensive player can move however he wants (linear, crossovers, laterals) as long as he stays within bounds.
If the offensive player gets more than an arms length away from the defensive player the drill is finished.
I see a lot of speed ladders used for change of direction, a drill like this is much more effective.
