Alright, clinical experience isn't super easy to come by depending on where you live, how much time you have, and how many classes you're juggling BUT it's not impossible! ⁣⁣

You could group these different experiences in various ways but let's compare a few so you have an idea of what to seek out based on your personal circumstance! ⁣⁣

⌚️𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Low on time due to being a student or working a full time job that you need to keep? Search for volunteer positions! These may only have a commitment of 3 hours per week or one 8 hour shift per month. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
More time? Maybe for a gap year or a whole summer... then look into working as an EMT or Medical Assistant! ⁣⁣

📚 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
As a surgery tech you might need to take a course that lasts a year whereas to get trained as a phlebotomist you could either (if you're lucky) find a position that will train you on the job OR find a local class that is only 6 weeks (I almost did one when I lived in Seattle and it was ~$1,100 for the course). ⁣⁣

🩺 𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐒 𝐎𝐍 ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Some volunteer jobs or clinical research jobs aren't hands on AT ALL and you might hardly interact with a patient. On the other hand, you could find a volunteer job that involves taking vitals and getting a history from a patient! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Similarly, some scribes only do the obvious role of the scribe and write notes for the doctors but some scribe positions at small practices may involve taking vitals and assisting in surgeries!⁣⁣

The more hands on the better, but obviously it depends on the opportunities near you and how much time you have. ⁣⁣
