That is one of the first 8-tracks I purchased when it came out. I had a 4/8 track Automatic Radio player in my1966 Chevy Nova. The 4 track format tapes seemed to last longer than the 8 track because the pinch roller built into the 4 track player was more durable than the roller in the 8 track cartridge. I bought an 8 track tape of Janis Joplin's Kozmic Blues album when it came out, and later bought a vinyl disc as a backup. When the album came out on CD I bought that, and of course CD's are nearly indestructible. As a result, I still have the Kozmik Blues vinyl unwrapped in the original sleeve. Maybe I will unwrap and play it on October 4 this year, to mark the 55th anniversary of her passing.

Then the heads would get out ofnalignment and then other tracks would ghost in. The tape would wind around I aide it. Sound quality would deteriorate whenn younleft them in the car and cold weather or sun got to them. Highway Star would fade out to change tracks.
Awful, awful tech. Thanks for the memories.
