Good on you for sitting on that truck until police arrived. With only the red and amber lights of the trailer visible to approaching traffic on the highway, not to mention the largely white trailer in a dark, snowy environment, it can take drivers too long to realize exactly what they are driving at (speaking from experience...). Your lights (flashers and headlights) undoubtedly helped to avoid another vehicle plowing through the trailer or sliding into a secondary accident.
