This was not play. Hard to say what level of trust Simone has, but bears are cantankerous by nature. That's why they are solitary. An interesting relationship, but I would keep the boundaries very firm before Simone learns to set her own. I don't see her actually mauling, but a quick nip can be very serious to a human. Jus' sayin'

I recognize this guy. Bears always go up on his porch and visit. One bear brought her cubs to visit. He is careful and kind to them. They keep returning over many years. Of course he is in danger in case one snaps suddenly.
