It really was like that. We didn’t know what to think. We didn’t expect to just randomly wake up sick one day, but we didn’t know where it came from, either. Our cousin was diagnosed with it pretty early on, and they figured it was through a blood transfusion. There were all these rules and this protocol about the funeral and the burial. I don’t believe we had any kind of viewing. It was a sad time. The patients were isolated. Awful. 😢
