Now all you must do is post a recipe….probably the next best thing to having dinner with you Rajiv.
I am a collector of vintage linen napkins and tablecloths. I see you like them too, and then there are the boxes; all shapes and sizes from different countries (I keep my most precious things in them).
I do enjoy your channel, a young man with a very wise soul. Love from the South East of Ireland.

Did you know it cuts the acidity in food. Tomato curries cooked in clay pots are milder tasting as the acidity is neutralised and is easy on your tummy because of it. Mind you, you can still taste the tomatoes.. but its pure tomato flavor.. and tastes super earthy. We use these in India as well, from states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Manipur, etc.. there are so many beautiful varities to choose from.. some vendors are doing a really good job with selling them through Instagram.

Eeeek, I soooo need those pots! I must visit Sri Lanka one day! I’ve been telling all my friends about your wonderful curry recipe!
Sri Lanka was my late niece’s favourite holiday destination. She loved the people so much. She used to financially support a Sri Lankan family and visited them every year from UK. Sadly, she passed away in 2016 but her little family in Sri Lanka will always remember her fondly. They had a small banner made in her memory and it was given to me 💔

Rajiv, in Brazil we also have clay pots that are fired in a open fire and when taken off the fire, they're hit with a bark from the mangroves which turns them black. The practice is believed to come from indigenous heritage, although today it's mostly done by afro-brazilians. It's used to cook traditional recipes with fish. If you'd like to take a look, search for 'paneleiras de goiabeiras'! :D

I am so happy you are introducing clay pots to more people. I have had a clay tagine for 15 years and it is my most treasured kitchen item. I would love to see a cleaning and maintaining clay pots video if you would be willing.
