I’m having a blast as I kick off my season as assistant conductor at Florida Grand Opera. In addition to assisting our brilliant maestro Chris Brandes in rehearsals, I have taken up the glockenspiel part on the celesta on a few occasions. Take a listen to one of my solos in Papageno’s second aria “Ein Mädchen oder Weibchen”. The celesta was invented almost one hundred years after Mozart died, but it has become a common tradition to perform the part on this keyboard instrument.
