Taiwanese people have been training to fight all by themselves for as long as it takes. They have been standing up against China for over 74 years and will continue to do so even if we are too busy helping Ukraine to the point of delaying delivery of $23B worth of military orders.

But China knows Taiwan would go down different. We wouldn't just help Taiwan, we would put US assets in the fight from second one.

America is escalating the situation and goading China to invade Taiwan just like they did with Russia and Ukraine. It's plain to see. The media and politicians have been working overtime to try to make Americans think China is a threat just so they can keep the war machine going.

Ukraine could fall tomorrow and it would not change the calculus in regards to Taiwan. Ultimately Ukraine is Europe's baby Taiwan is ours. The microchips coming out of Taiwan are crucial to the American economy in the ways that the wheat coming out of Ukraine is not. 90% of the Chinese economy is dependent on America and her allies. There is no way that China would be willing to suffer the kind of sanctions that Russia it's suffering under. China is not going to invade Taiwan. I love you Dave keep up the good work.

Naval battle is a wholly different animal and China has always been a land power, Japan would get involved, and Taiwan has been preparing for this for 75 years. China could still win, but it’s not analogous to a land invasion of Ukraine.

But America hasn't put all of its might into defending Ukraine, and it is far from clear that what little the USA and NATO have provided will fail. Plus, China vs Tiawan is a totally different type of war.

The US has not put 'all of its might' into defending Ukraine. Not saying this as some neo-con but that's hyperbole. We've engaged with no aircraft, none of our navy, and we've sent surplus inventory that can be justifiably replaced above the 'minimum mandatory' amount (like 155mm shells) required for US combat readiness.
If the question is "Can the US beat China in a 1v1 head on kinetic war in a magic scenario where fucking nukes don't exist", that's an unequivocal yes.
If the question is "Will US material support for Taiwan be sufficient to prevent China from taking Taiwan in a prolonged military campaign" -I don't really know.
