Accommodating resistance for the win. Much of this is explained in the Westside book of methods.
When anchored at the top, it's known as reverse bands aka the future method. Often used not just on max effort days but also dynamic effort days as bands demand that you compensate for the increase and weight by increasing your speed to overcome the band. 🔥🔥🔥
So let's say you can hack squat 300 lb.. but with the band you can get 400. Even though after you've driven out of the hole, & you're into your leverage, Your body is still under 400 lb at lockout. That means everything under that weight from muscles to joints to central nervous system will acclimate to the heavier weight while giving you a bit of assistance. With the bands you can load more weight on the squat or the hack squat then you ever would have been able to before, more weight on your body is more weight. After that you can use a smaller and smaller band for decreasing assistance in the hole.
OR anchor the bands at the bottom of the hack squat to give a different benefit in the movement. Bands tend to act like tendons and ligaments, lending themselves not just to strength & size but to rehabilitation. 1000+1 uses for ban

Actually a great explanation for using bands (or any other variable loading technique). Reminds me that I need to reincorporate more chains/bands into my bench progression. Now that I'm nearly peaked again I'm losing progressing at my sticking point - about 3 inches shy of lockout. Increasing the load off chest, and my strength at that position, will help me have more velocity as I hit my sticking point. Sure I can grind out reps at my sticking point but alternatively I can train my muscles where they are strong and in a better position to move the weight.

10% of the equipment at my gym is broken. I go in with a camelback bag full of goodies, including bands, D rings, grips and xtra long pull down straps. I've already "fixed" assisted dip machine and the 2 arm cable machine so this will be fun. Hope the band doesn't snap and hit some roided dude at the gym, though! 😮

First off I’ve never thought about that way before. Seems like a really good idea. I’m learning so many great uses for bands lately.
But yeah, Given how much rent and housing cost nowadays if you can spend a few years in your moms basement while working a steady job that will set you up for some degree of success that you otherwise would not have. Because let’s face it most jobs don’t pay fairly for the work provided measured against how much things actually cost. I personally would’ve loved not spending the first three years on my own using the car for boxes I moved in with as furniture and eating sleep. I know I’m not a better person for it. I just have a few extra injuries.

Love the way this loops. You could also do partial reps in the hardest range.
