@marztalkssports I had this same thought process last year and made more of an effort to watch him and look at the tracking data to understand why that was (and also adjust his 2k stats accordingly lol).
Brown feels like a bad βgoodβ shooter because while he can get on hot streaks, he lacks the elite shooting versatility of the most elite shooters while still insisting on trying those shots. Guys like Kyle korver are thought of as all time shooters but limits his attempts to off the catch shots, so us fans donβt often see him consistently miss outside the post season when he gets schemed against.
Brown has the ability and confidence to try turnarounds, spot ups, off the dribble, fadeaways, etc. however, his only true elite skill is pull up midranges and sometimes pull up threes where heβs like in the top 5% or something. Heβs dipped below league average at times on catch and shoot (even open threes have declined) and his less than perfect handling and slower release gives a built in disadvantage for him to maintain consistency. It seems like the pull up helps him create balance to nail those shots more often.

I had an argument in comments when I said his value is not his ball talent but his mentality and will to win vs Tatums talent and size. My argument was reasons why Tatum is a media darling vs Brown being cast as a #2. He is a #2 because of what was said in this vid and my comments. Hoopers see Tatums talent.
