i do not know why im only getting recommended this now, but these two items actually form an anti-synergy by preventing pedestal mimics from spawning, which are guaranteed if you have mimic tooth necklace, but gets cancelled out by ring of mimic friendship.

The ring of mimic friendship overrides the necklace on boss pedestal so you don't get the double loot, so never take the ring imo, maybe if you have no keys at all but that's it.
