I grew up angry. I never stopped to question until my adult life. I later was told that my anger came from my grandfather. He was a very abusive man. Well, all of his sons (my uncles and dad) and even me and my brother are all these anger monsters. But I was watching this video years ago that said happiness or anger is a choice. Blah blah blah,etc.. I tried to live by that. I ain't great at it. I'm still very angry sometimes but I just don't act on it like I would have when I was younger. The reason I am saying this is because I feel this broke that generational curse of anger in my son. We did his review with his teacher and she just can't help but talk about how smart he was, how caring, helpful and trustworthy he was. I was always seen as just another angry black kid. But maybe if we all took a small bit from that and just remember to try and leave it better than we found it, the world might get better, ya know? Sorry if it's a long message. But in truth, it's a longer journey and I still ain't made it to my destination. I just see how choice is such a powerful thing.
