My go-to burger at @innout is always a 3x2 Animal Style and I was in a burger mood and recreated my favorite burger at home on my flat top grill. This burger starts with 3 burger patties and 2 slices of American Cheese. The burger patties are cooked with mustard, and pickles, grilled onions, and extra spread are added to complete the full Animal Style experience.
You can customize the amount of burger patties and cheese that goes onto this amazing cheeseburger. I personally like 3x2, but the girls only like a regular single-patty cheeseburger. I think the burger patties at In-N-Out are less than 2 ounces, but that’s what I went with so it can be more satisfying.
For the grilled onions, heat a large skillet on medium-low heat. Add neutral oil and diced onions. Stir occasionally for about 45 minutes or until onions are caramelized and golden brown.
No Limit Tip: I used a tortilla press to form uniform-sized burger patties.

1 pound 80/20 ground chuck, separated into 8 2-ounce patties

2 large sweet onions, diced
