My Dad flew the Cobra and I grew up around them. Such good memories.

It’s the exact same rotor blades, transmission and engine that was used on the Uh-1E and the UH-1H T-53 engine and a 540 rotor head system!

Cobras were part of a PINK TEAM in Vietnam. When called in, they would work out an area with their Mini Guns. A distinctive sound.

CalFire used them for a while as spotter aircraft and Air Control aircraft.

I picked up a bunch of marine cobra pilots as a service shuttle one time, the guy tells me a story about how he met the original pilot of the cobra he was flying at a bar, the guy flew the same cobra like 35 years prior 😂

My uncle filmed the Cobra and Huey for Bell helicopter during testing. We got to view raw footage of rocket and gun firing in his living room. Awesome fun for a 10 year old.
