Biden's policy is not so different from Trump's, except more diplomatic and less pro-Russian. Europe cannot rely on the United States. Not militarily, not economically, not diplomatically. We need to go our own way, and that might mean cooperating with the US in some instance or with China in others. What should be important is the well-being of Europe, not the US interests.

As a British born American who was brought to LA as a young child and now lives permanently in Spain, I agree with him 100%. Europe quite possibly may have the most potential of any region or country globally over the long term with it's vast resources, diverse and culturally rich individual countries, and far reaching influence. What's happening in the US today is shocking considering the widespread gun violence, drug abuse and homelessness. The average teenager and young adult in America is an habitual pot smoker and alcohol consumer which often leads to worse addictions. Europe should stay clear of getting too close regardless of the economic benefits doing business in the largest economy.
