For context, the scene in Days is a moment when Xion briefly forgot who she was and thought she was Roxas. She spots a person in a coat and presumes that it must be Xion. Then all this madness happens and then the game cuts to her being passed out being watched over by Riku and iirc, Roxas in the background leaving the islands, knowing nothing about all of this.
The twist is basically that
a) The game tricks us into thinking we are in Roxas' PoV. Instead we are in Xion's and while Roxas was on the islands that day, he had nothing to do with this.
and
b) This scene does not actually happen, Xion passed out and sees this in her mind from overload of being torn between too many identities already(Sora, Roxas and her own) and then additionally one of Riku's memories managing to get mixed in somehow(This is surprisingly not the only time this happens in the series. In KH2, Roxas hears one of the lines Jafar said during one of the villain meetings for which Sora was not present when Sora's memories are being reconstructed. Maybe this is a "collective subcontious" kind of thing?)

The scene with Xion adds so much it’s basically a different scene. Almost like a commentary or addition to then original scene.
As great a job as they did w/ the acting and the direction in Re, I still prefer the original. It’s a very weird and unique mood with the sprites I feel; almost every line hits.

It's funny. There was a long bit of time between CoM and 358/2 and I didn't play Re:com but when I got there, I still remembered this scene. Glad I did, I could have been pretty confused.

I didn’t even know this was a remake of a scene in days. But why would roxas remember this? This is a memory of Riku’s from Castle Oblivion, not Sora’s.

I like days, just because it tells us something about Sora, while we see and know Zexion talks to Riku, when Zexion mentions "it was you who destroyed your home" we see Sora in pain, which means Sora sees himself as responsible considering he has a magical weapon and had a fighting chance of course survivers guilt would happen
