Another detail (for the movie set at least) the rich hobbits would live at the top of the hil and the ones at the bottom/lakeside are the poorest. Also they just finished a walkthrough hobbit hole, you should check it out!

A favourite fanfic of mine has Bilbo sass Lobelia Sackville-Baggins with the fact that SHE lives in a house and HE lives in a proper smial. Because she's not a proper Baggins even if she acts all high and mighty and is in-fact only middle-class where Bilbo despite being eccentric is still upper-class.

One little problem I have... Is that Tolkien drew his vision of Hobbiton and well, I'm not hating on you, because it's a really nice miniature, but it is still quite off from Tolkien's vision.
