There is a school of thought called last Thursday-ism which postulates that the whole universe (previous memories and all) popped into existence last Thursday.
Not a real belief system, more a thought experiment basically saying there is no way to disprove that idea

Some Christians dismiss other Christians because they accept the old Earth fact. They don't realize that the Bible doesn't teach a young earth.

The 6000-10000 year thing is very niche within Christianity. The thing is the people who do think that are the most vocal about it. The problem is that the person who created this "theory" was from the 1600s and based his conclusion on the commonly held belief of the time that the earth was only around 6-7 thousand years old. So, he basically took what he thought he knew and tried to confirm it using the bible. Confirmation bias at its finest.

The Bible doesn’t say how old the earth is, but what we go off is written documents, and history, humans have supposed to have been around for 4 millions years, if humans have been around for 4 millions years why do we only have written documents from that last 7000/8000 years? What was humans doing for the other 3,993,000million years?

I am a Roman Catholic. I have only ever met ONE Christian that believed the earth was 6000 years old. Never met another that was not on board with the geologic time scale.

The greatest confusion comes from equating (Adam, Eve, and Garden of Eden in Gen2) to (man & woman & earth of Gen1) these 2 accounts are completly different & try make as same is great confusion. Bible is but a love story of a jilted lover and the apple of his eye. Jesus is the Lamb slain from the foundation of this world... so when was this sinful world founded but upon the day of Adam & Eve disobedience for it was then that God discarded Adam and Eve fig leaves and gave them covering of animal skins.. of necessity was the shedding of the lambs blood and Christ was appointed as He who would give his life as seed of woman to redeem men from their sins

There were 4kYrs of sin prior to John and there remain 3k years from Jesus 3 day prophesy

From Christ baptism & anointing unto the anointing dedication of Solomons temple was one God day of 1000yrs and from that dedication unto Adam's sin is yet another 3000yrs from OT chronology... but to equate Gen2 with Gen1 is a grave error leading to great confusion. The time between events of Gen2 and Gen1 is wholly unspecified by scripture

Well, 6000 thousand years old for the universe will work if each of those 6000 years is equal to about 23 million years each.
