Before wax warmers, there were electric candle warmers. Not only can you absolutely have them in a dorm, but they have several uses. Firstly, obviously you can put your candle on it and it warms it and puts off the scent without open flame. It is also awesome for keeping your freshly made tea or coffee piping hot while you study. In a pinch, if you have a hot meal you can't get to right away, you can take it out of plastic packaging and put the food on a regular ceramic plate. Then put the plate on the warmer and invert a bowl over it. And remember your basic food safety rules... Don't eat it if it had been sitting out like that all day. This is just for a little while, maybe an hour or so.
