Thanks for sharing! I'm also neurodivergent (autistic). Thought you might like to know that a person can't be neurodiverse, only neurodivergent, as the former is specifically regarding the diversity of neurotypes in a given group (e.g., the population, or a smaller subset) and the latter refers to those of us who diverge from the majority (i.e., neurotypicals).
The two words are often misused interchangeably, especially outside of our community, so I like being specific and using them correctly so other people can also know what they mean and how they differ.
Much love to you!

I've recently discovered that I'm definitely probably autistic, I've always noticed that I've been much different than All the other kids growing up, Even after Being told I was dyslexic, It still felt like There was something else. I have a whole list of reasons as to why I'm probably on the spectrum But as I was researching and building up those reasons The nail on the coffin for Me was me Realizing that I've been masking Almost my whole life, So now that I've realized that I'm finally trying to Figure out who I actually am And trying to demask a bit, It's been a super weird experience so far. It also can be hard because I have social anxiety So some days I can be pretty much fine around crowds going up to people talking to people all that stuff And other days I can't even Say hi We're talk without stumbling over my words so bad Or getting really overwhelmed
It's been A very interesting journey so far, but I'm slowly trying to figure myself out more and more

I have autism, OCD and ADHD amonst other diagnosis. Because of that, my brain works differently then the typical human, I seem "smart" at school because I don't listen in class and get top grades but, what people don't see is 2 to 3 hours of work I put in for every in class hour just to learn the same material because I need to self-teach to be able to learn, listening to a teacher talk won't help me. I'm also really bad at social situations and sometimes/a lot of the times, I act "weird" or "abnormaly" because of my autism and adhd. Those behaviors are worse when my autism and adhd don't agree with each other (no idea how explain this better). As such, I've managed to become someone who advocates for the neurodiverse people at my school and I get called upon in various staff meetings to help them understand what spme of the struggles of the neurodiverse students at my school

I found it really interesting to read in Ellie Middleton’s book that OCD is also a form of neurodiversity! Loving this mini series so far 🤍
