What an awful father, the mother is right he was absolutely cruel to his daughter. Nobody should be leaving a child in the car unattended. He seems like he cares more about the girlfriendâs dog than his own child. OP is definitely the AH
He wanted that weekend to be fun for him, thatâs all that mattered.

This weekend get away was âmaking stopsâ while he left a 9 year old in a car with a dog that probably wouldnât listen to her in the first place. Then get mad cause she was trying to keep herself safe by not running into traffic???? Seriously if I was the mom I would be marching his butt into court to get full custody.

I donât think heâs a bad person. He knows how to control his temper and he knew he couldnât hug her who is better as him not hugging her or him, smacking her and being so angry at her I think he did the right thing. The kid was nine years old and I bet he wouldâve told her if you open the door, the dog might run out and it will be cheaper. Said 15 minutes is too long to get a drink his girl friend was going to the bathroom and it probably wasnât 15 minutes â is the estimation

He's the AH. Seems like he's not very attentive towards his 9 year old kid. And you donât watch someone else's pet by making your kid do so. Sarah's dog, Sarah's responsibly. Not the best thing that the dog got away but come on, she's a 9 year old left in a car alone multiple times. She probably just wanted to get out and stretch. It'd probably be different if she did it with malicious intent or was a teen (although mistakes do happen). OP didn't handle that very well, but I do appreciate him (maybe) not blowing up and screaming at her in his anger. I'll put the not hugging down to this as well. When I'm angry, I know I can't do certain things or I will definitely break something or say something bad. Sometimes it's better to disengage than end up doing or saying something you really regret. But feels like there's way more he could have done to prevent this from happening (or at least make it less likely) like make sure he or girlfriend were in the car or arranged it so he wouldn't be taking his daughter.

The audacity to say he wanted the weekend to be fun for all them. In the earlier post saying his daughter signed up for being neglected and left in the car to watch the dog when she came with them. It was his weekend to have visitation with his daughter. He sounded put out that he had to take his daughter like she was a great burden to him. No he actually meant to say he wanted the weekend to be fun for him and his girlfriend.

Im going to be on the puppy's side in this because Yorkie puppies are too small to just jump out of a car by themselves. I have a full grown Chihuahua yorkie mix and half the time, he cant even jump out by himself.
Esited to add ....what 9 year old gets "bored" in less than 15 minutes with a puppy to play with?

10/10 it's a child wich he is responsible for, so it's his fault. And the way he treated his daughter is so bad and cruel
