Im progressive liberal. Iā€™m CA through and through. Love the Bay Area and am very active in festivals, museums, concerts, and generally hanging out. One of my go-to areas in the City is the Tenderloin. Love it all. But my catalytic converter has been stolen three times. My car windows have been bipped four times, and I have been caught in the middle of a mass robbery event. Iā€™ll let you guess how I voted regarding crime.

You canā€™t leave anything in your car in my city otherwise your window gets smashed. Ca stopped arresting and prosecuting theft, but it didnā€™t decrease

As someone who works in retail in california, the current policy has basically legalized shoplifting. It has nothing to do with left or right but people's exhaustion. The only reason shoplifting lioks low is that it goes unreported 90% of the time because reporting it does absolutely nothing.

the fact that the liberal progressive policies were working ... it's such a tragic change of direction. The sheer misery this is going to cause for so many people.

I love the grounded reality of this channel!!!
If you are not in the financial market space right now, you are making a huge mistake. I understand that it could be due to ignorance, but if you want to make your money work for you..prevent inflation

Crime isn't decreasing. It is simply being redefined.

Crime levels were lower with a more lenient charge for thefts under 1000? Okayā€¦ what reality is this lady living in?

Youā€™ve never been to the Bay Area

I work retail. Itā€™s bad. Itā€™s easy to ignore when you only hear about it or occasionally see it on tv.

I voted against both of these policies, and yes you are right there wasn't enough pushback, Californians were simply just not informed enough. I'm deeply disappointed in my state for this, but at least I can say I did my best to fight it. Much love to everyone, stay safe. ā¤

If crime rates are down it's because they basically legalized crime over there.

Good change. Now let's get rid of Newsom and make some real changes.

I agree most of your videos but not this oneā€¦. Crimes are lower because the itā€™s not been reported. When it comes to retail stores if a theft happens and you file a police report your insurance goes up, hence another reason not to report... there are many more messed up stories.

Crime wasn't falling. This is more distortion of reality.

It was the homeless population that caused people to vote yes on 36 also. It is unfortunate how one of the most expensive states also has tough laws against crime but if not, then people take advantage which causes innocent people to feel unsafe. It was the people saying they don't want crime to be easy for those who don't mind doing it, especially when the penalty is minimal. Also, the penalty only gets harsher with repeat offenders. So, if you are shoplifting multiple times, you should expect the penalty to go up. The real solution to the problem isn't more or less punishment, rather it should be focused on the cost of living with low wages that causes people to feel the need to steal.
