By far one of the best books I have ever read! Message From The Middle of Nowhere is a beautiful gift to the world from Gunnar! The book shares his stories and all the lessons and knowledge of a very successful salesman and businessman in Iceland, which is known for being a tough market. I have learnt so much from Gunnar and Message From The Middle of Nowhere. And I honestly think the book helps you to improve not only in the professional area of your life, but in the personal as well. The storytelling is magnificent! So much so that you will immediately feel the need to visit Iceland! I have withdrawn an excerpt from the book that says something along the lines of: “In life we are always selling, be it a product, a service, or ourselves at the next interview.” And that has shown me the importance of practicing confidence when expressing our ideas and ourselves to others. The book has definitely awaken me to a great level of self-awareness and the importance of amelioration as a professional and as a human being. Truly thankful for this book! 🙏

for me it was Martin Eden by Jack London.
London was the most published foreign author in USSR with 50m+ books produced (~5000 - 10000 tonnes of books = several miles of fully loaded freight trains).
recently I've read some Soviet editor's note that his books possessed the ability to energize readers' spirit with a living passionate flame.
and I can not stress enough how true this is as this in fact happened to me once, it felt like a magic spirit buff in an RPG.
