You didn’t even mention the fact that it also set her on fire. The paint was highly flammable and they were using fire practical effects for every time she teleported and at one point she came down from the elevator and she had been covered in flames.

Not only that, Margaret got horrible burns from the pyrotechnics for her broom. And then when she was on Sesame Street it scared viewers too much they banned the episode. I feel so bad for her.

That is FASCINATING!!! The original Wizard of Oz was BRUTAL THO!!!! I was the Wicked Witch last year for my school’s musical and am SO GLAD we just used face paint mixed with foundation!!!
The mixture felt great! I have sensory issues when it comes to makeup so mixing the facepaint with foundation made it feel better for me AND made it easier to get off every night after the show. I mean…it wasn’t EASY to get off by any means but easier.
I remember at one point the person doing my makeup for a rehearsal was different than my mom who normally did my makeup and helped out with the shows. My mom was busy so this other lady did it and didn’t mix the facepaint and foundation even though my mom and I both told her to. I was so overstimulated by the end of that rehearsal I had to get in the shower IMMEDIATELY after I got home!!

Also, Buddy Ebsen, dad of Beverly Hillbillies show ( + lots of other movies) was the original Tin Man. Had to be replaced as very sick! was poisoned from the silver colored/ lead poisoning paint. (margaret Hamilton- wicked witch, was in Many movies as well. (she also was in danger from the fire of her broom when she was lowered into the floor "I'm melting! Oh, what a world!" poor Margaret!
