This temple’s vigraha turned towards a devotee. Yes, we are now in Udupi, and I’m talking about Udupi Shree Krishna Matha, one of the most auspicious temples dedicated to God Krishna. This temple is more than 700 years old. In fact, it is not a single temple; it’s a temple complex with many temples near this matha.
The history of Kanakana Kindi goes like this: In the 16th century, Hindu saint Kanakadasa was denied entry to the Krishna temple due to his lower caste status. In response, Kanakadasa stood behind the temple, sang a song praising God Krishna, and miraculously, the vigraha moved and rotated itself towards Kanakadasa, creating a big hole in the wall. The hole, through which Kanakadasa saw the vigraha, still exists today and is known as the Kanakana Kindi.

In Indian history we never saw Prasad which is given on floor. India culture is much civilised then this that everyone gets Prasad in their hand using a specific copper spoon. And we actually don’t know why these people serving food on floor as yet in south India food never served without banana leaves or a proper thali. The thing is we shouldn’t connect everything with religion some bad people take shelter of religion and do weird and bad things and normal people start following those. But these days it’s hard to fool individuals.
