Suzie is the only one i completely trust about anything nail related! The very first time I got gel nails, the TECH filed my natural nail bed down so badly that it was incredibly painful and burned like Hades even days afterward and she herself out there while doing them telling me a story about how the night before she had a client's husband call her in the middle of the night since she was freelancing, and she told him yeah well she's just got to suck it up that's the way gel nails work- it hurts!! 😮
Suzie only and always for me!!!

Wow Suzie powerful message. I have put up with both the types of pain literally until I fired my nail tech and hired myself 4 mos ago!! The more often occurring would be the efile inflicted pain. I even brought it up to her because it would often be cuts that drew blood!! And she looked me in the face and said, “I have been doing this for 20 years. I know what I am doing you do not.” “Oh yeah?? Like well that may be but it’s MY nail and YOURE hurting it!!” Well that’s why I am fully immersed in the youtube community and in the 4 mos I have been doing it myself not only is my journey 💯 % pain free, but I am loving the way the final result is way more than I ever did hers!! Plus the accomplishment I feel when I put the work and effort into. Plus it doesn’t hurt that I am starting to get compliments when I am at work! Thanxx Suzie for all the wealth of knowledge you impart to your audience!

I am shocked w how many times new clients say “wow this doesn’t hurt” or “wow I’m not bleeding” it’s not a painful service and you should never bleed 😢

It's amazing and extremely sad, how we are conditioned to suffer through discomfort and pain and not complain about our treatment.
I hope people will watch this and realize that the truth is that they shouldn't submit to being treated coursely. Ty

I love all the comments telling all the bad experiences at nail salons, and now everyone's here doing their own nails. 😊 (me too, but only because it's too expensive

What i learned from the other short works for me, if the lamp is on the low heat setting when i first put my nails in, it doesn't hurt. Thanks Suzie!❤

I only had it burn once, and the nail tech laughed ever since then I do my own. I never seem to hurt myself.

😂 ladies just pull your hand out and then put it back in, the heat will instantly go away. It’s that simple. If a salon professional is hurting you SAY SOMETHING. it’s ok. You are paying them for gods sake

When I remember the pain when nail drills first became used many years ago, it was a wonder I had any nails left, they just kept filing away AT THE NATURAL NAIL ! Now, many years later, I'm learning how to be a nail tech and realise the crappy treatment and crappy nails I used to get. I can give myself beautiful nails with no pain at all, and the nails last ages. Thanks so much for your posts, they are invaluable ❤

Suzie is THE NAIL QUEEN 👑. I recommend her videos to anyone who has a passion for nails. She is very easy to learn from. I myself after 25 years of being a nail tech have learned some great advice from Suzie. So I vote for SUZIE AS THE OFFICIAL NAIL QUEEN OF YOUTUBE ❣️💅

Your voice is so soothing! I listen to a video of yours before I sleep each night. Does that make me weird ? Haha

i've noticed that when i'm using the lamps that you slide your hand into it hurts. but when i use a stick uv light or a smaller one that cures one nail at a time, it isn't as bad!
also to add- the reason why i stopped getting my nails done in a salon was because these people were always cutting my finger. my cuticles stick to my nail beds really hard and sometimes when theyre working on my cuticles they end up cutting me and i would get so frustrated. gel+uv+cuts on the finger is NOT a fun time.

I think im allergic to gel actually.. first time i did gel nails and put them in the lamp it was like someone hold a LIGHTER on my nails.. not kidding, i started crying, I did all things she told me to do to relive the pain, and it didnt help. A few years later I tried it again at another technician and it was the same! I will never do it again. I love acrylic and hybrid gel (hybrid gel doesn't hurt even a bit, not gel polish either..
Everyone says it can hurt and burn, but trust me.. I have a scary high pain tolerancy, I dont even want to think about that pain again! And either way I think acrylic looks better and also stronger. I cant do acrylic by myself, so thats something a technician need to do for me, hybrid gel is something i can do and i think its funny and relaxing to sit and watch youtube or something while doing it (of course your channel have taught me ALOOOOT. I love the way you did about using full cover tips as dual forms, they look so good that way.. dual forms never worked for me, havent found any type that fits my nails, I have really flat and wide nail beds so im doing that technique but i dont put the tip close to the cuticle, onky like a little more than half and then I build the rest with a bruah to get a good apex and wonderful look at the cuticles!)

Not heat but I had a manicurist that was over zealous taking old acrylic off (using nippers and she’d pry it off) and my nails would throb in pain the rest of the day after every manicure. It was bad enough that I’d have to take Tylenol or Advil to ease the pain.

Is it any wonder why I do my own nails now?

Susie should I put SPF on my hands before I go to a salon, especially if I’m getting a full set of fake nails, to protect the skin on my hands from damage from the UV lamps?

To be fair I stopped going to the salons cause the nail technician seems unbothered hurting my nails. I started to do them myself. I am even more happy with the results but also I am following you ❤

Thank you for the video on the heat! For me it was less than 5 seconds so I just ignored it. Lol

for my senior graduation and prom i got acrylic nails at a salon for the first time and i thought everything went good. until the next day when i woke up with crazy pain on every nail that i think was from the tech over filing them, still remember how it hurt even after seven years
